We are seeking a highly motivated PhD scholar to work on a project focused on spoken conversational search.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To develop contextual interactive techniques that support effective information search over a speech-only communication channel
  • Design and implement summarisation methods for presenting search results effectively over speech
  • Collaborate with an industry partner developing conversational interfaces for visually impaired individuals

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Computer Science or a related field and some background in Interactive Information Retrieval, Natural Language Processing, and/or Spoken Dialogue Systems/techniques.

This is a 3-year scholarship opportunity available to students commencing a PhD. International students are welcome to apply.
