About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead and manage our teams of multi-disciplinary engineers working on Java, Spring Boot, Postgres, Kubernetes, and modern front-end technologies such as REACT and PHP.

The successful candidate will drive innovation and continuous improvement in application system design, architecture, and development processes, leveraging the latest technologies and tools to improve product functionality and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage 3-4 teams of engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in application system design, architecture, and development processes
  • Work closely with product managers and stakeholders to define product requirements and ensure timely delivery of new features and enhancements
  • Manage the hiring, onboarding, and development of team members to ensure a diverse and inclusive workplace
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Review technical approaches and facilitate technical thought leadership with support from the team
  • Guide the architecture team to build new products, improve existing ones, and shape development best practices
  • Provide hands-on support where needed, including managing escalations, supporting teams to meet release dates, resolving incidents, and addressing technical and interpersonal challenges

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in software development with strong familiarity in at least one of the following technologies: Java, Spring Boot, Postgres, Kubernetes, modern front-end technologies such as REACT, and a basic knowledge of PHP
  • 2+ years of experience leading and managing high-performing Agile development teams, with a deep understanding of Agile principles and methodologies
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with a proven ability to manage and mentor a team of engineers
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other teams and departments
  • Professional level of English (B2 min.)
  • Well-versed in people management tasks, including recruitment, personnel development, giving feedback, and solving interpersonal conflicts
  • Experience with setting and delivering on goals, both for yourself and your teams, KPI-driven, and able to prioritize to achieve outcomes
  • Experience working in a fast-moving environment, dealing with ambiguity and change
  • Technical background and experience with software design of performant and large-scale systems that meet business needs without over-engineering
  • Collaborative attitude and superb organizational skills, a problem-solving mindset, and the ability to make strategic decisions
  • Java/Java Spring Boot knowledge and/or holistic SDLC/other technology stacks (Agnostic)
  • GCP or other cloud experience is a must
