Rural Generalist GP/VMO Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced General Practitioner to join our team at Ochre Medical Centre Rosebery in West Coast Tasmania.
This is a unique opportunity to provide GP/VMO services to a rural mining community, working alongside a highly experienced GP/VMO and having the opportunity to supplement your income through providing on-call services to the hospital.
The successful candidate will have:
- General or specialist registration with AHPRA
- Proficient with common general practice conditions
- Advanced life support skills with current emergency medicine certificate (APLS, ELS, etc)
- Preferably recent GP/VMO experience
- Capable of working without direct supervision
The Ochre Medical Centre Rosebery is a well-equipped and purpose-built practice facility, providing a range of services including community nursing, accident and emergency, and visiting diabetic clinics.
The local community health centre has no inpatient facilities and provides a 24/7 A&E service, with the majority of major presentations being transferred to a nearby hospital.
The population of Rosebery is predominantly employed within the local mining industry, resulting in occupational health work at the practice where the workforce requires pre-employment medicals and some injury management.
We offer a comprehensive package including:
- $350,000 - $400,000 package (including house and car)
- Relocation, procedural, CPD, and retention grants
- Excellent supervision or mentoring (if required)
- Eligible location for RVTS and ACRRM Independent Pathway
- DPA location (significant reduction in moratorium)
- Eligible location for Five Year Scheme
- Comprehensive orientation program on arrival
