Job Description

At Koorburra House, we are dedicated to providing a warm and friendly home environment for our clients. We specialize in offering 24-hour supported independent living, emergency respite care, and community access support.

As a Youth Support Worker, you will provide day-to-day assistance and support to individuals who have a disability or are at risk, aligning with their identified goals and needs.

  • Assist clients with personal care tasks, such as feeding, showering, and getting dressed.
  • Accompany clients on outings and engage them in local community activities.
  • Help clients learn new skills and socialize within their community.
  • Administer medication safely and effectively.
  • Prepare meals and create a safe environment for vulnerable young people and children in various types of care.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A preferred qualification in Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (Residential Care) or Youth Work.
  • Current Blue and Yellow Cards.
  • Valid Driver's License with a reliable vehicle, including third-party property damage insurance.
  • First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with clients who exhibit challenging behaviors.
  • High level of availability for both day and night shifts.
