Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paediatric Rehabilitation Medicine Specialist to join our team at the Royal Children's Hospital. As a key member of our interdisciplinary rehabilitation team, you will provide clinical care to children and adolescents requiring rehabilitation after brain injury, major medical illness, acquired spinal dysfunction, or elective musculoskeletal procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide timely and effective rehabilitation services to patients through direct management and coordination with junior staff.
  • Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation plans for patients in collaboration with their families and the interdisciplinary rehabilitation team.
  • Be a source of clinical expertise, advocacy, and guidance across the Victorian Paediatric Rehabilitation Team.
  • Participate in consultation-liaison service to other units within the hospital.
  • Liaise with other rehabilitation team members at regular clinical meetings and case conferences regarding patient management plans and progress.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated capacity to work harmoniously and collaboratively within a team.
  • Bachelor of Medicine or equivalent.
  • FRACP or international equivalent.
  • Specialist Medical Registration with APHRA and Medical Board of Australia.
  • Membership of Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitative Medicine (FAFRM) and experience in paediatric rehabilitation.
