Job Summary

The College of Dentistry at The Ohio State University is seeking a highly qualified Oral and Maxillofacial Radiologist to join its clinical-track faculty position at the rank of assistant or associate professor in the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide didactic and clinical education in oral and maxillofacial radiology to students in the college's pre- and post-doctoral dental programs and the dental hygiene program.
  • Conduct research and scholarly activity in the field of oral and maxillofacial radiology.
  • Support the overall mission of the division and participate in university and college governance.
  • Contribute to the college's continuing education programs and practice in the college's affiliated intramural Dental Faculty Practice.

Performance Objectives

  • Promote evidence-based teaching skills in an educational setting and a strong track record of scholarly activity.
  • Demonstrate a passion for student education and apply advanced technology to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Participate in didactic and clinical teaching activities consistent with division goals and demonstrate effective teaching skills through student and peer reviews.
  • May serve as course director, including preparation and distribution of course materials, management of lecture/laboratory schedules, and conducting and grading of all examinations.
  • Support a model for dental education that includes the incorporation of innovative technologies, interdisciplinary education and patient care, and evidence-based dentistry.
  • Provide interdisciplinary mentoring to students and demonstrate collaboration between college divisions.
  • Participate in college and/or university committees and membership in professional organizations and contributions to professional activities outside of the university.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Required: Candidates must have a DDS/DMD degree or equivalent degree, certificate from a CODA-accredited advanced education program in oral and maxillofacial radiology, and board certification/eligibility by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology.
  • Desired: Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience and an MS, PhD, EdD, or other advanced degree.
