Role Summary:

A high-level Environmental Assessment and Approvals role is available in our team.

Job Description:

Lead a team of experts to deliver comprehensive environmental assessments and approvals for major infrastructure, renewable energy, and aquaculture projects across Queensland.

Prepare and review technical reports, including environmental impact statements and project approvals documents.

Provide specialist advice on environmental assessment and approvals processes to internal stakeholders and external clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective environmental management strategies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex projects within agreed timelines and budgets.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, industry partners, and community groups.
  • Identify and mitigate potential environmental risks associated with project development and operation.
  • Mentor and develop junior team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of environmental legislation and regulations in Queensland, including the Planning Act 2016 and Environmental Protection Act 1999.
  • Proven experience in preparing and reviewing environmental impact assessments, EISs, and other related documents.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Leadership and teamwork skills to motivate and direct project teams towards achieving project goals.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve environmental issues.
