Job Title: Leading Hand CNC Machinist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Leading Hand CNC Machinist to join our team at 309 FLSmidth Pty. Ltd. in Henderson, WA.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of CNC machinists, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of CNC machines, and contributing to the success of our manufacturing and refurbishment process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and motivate a team of CNC machinists to achieve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and cash targets.
  • Develop and maintain a safety-first culture within the team, promoting safe behaviors and processes.
  • Continuously improve the team's safety and quality performance by developing and enforcing standard operating procedures, training staff, and verifying their competency.
  • Assist with the setup and operation of CNC machines, and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Adhere to safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading a team and hands-on experience in medium to heavy engineering.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with technical certification or degree in machining a plus.
  • Proven experience as a CNC machinist or similar role, with proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC programming and machine operation, with ability to use precision measuring tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills, with strong commitment to safety and quality.
