Public Relations Account Manager Position

We are seeking a skilled and ambitious Public Relations Account Manager to join our Sydney team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Australian media relations, excellent communication skills, and a passion for storytelling.

Job Summary

The successful applicant will be responsible for building and maintaining media lists, crafting compelling pitches, and supporting the delivery of campaigns. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of day-to-day media outreach while learning directly from senior leaders and account managers.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with journalists and influencers.
  • Write engaging media releases, pitch notes, case studies, and client updates.
  • Monitor coverage, manage reporting, and evaluate campaign results.
  • Contribute ideas in brainstorming sessions and identify opportunities for clients.
  • Stay up-to-date with current affairs and spot story angles.
  • Support your team on client servicing, including WIPs, contact reports, and administrative tasks.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience in public relations, specifically in an Australian agency environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the local media landscape and its trends.
  • Excellent writing and pitching skills, with the ability to craft compelling stories.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • A collaborative attitude and a genuine passion for storytelling.
