Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Senior Practitioner/Room Leader to manage our toddler room (1-2's) at Ashbourne Day Nurseries at Swanbourne. As a Senior, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and education to children in our nursery setting and managing and supporting your team. You will report to the nursery manager with daily communications around ratios and children's development.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Create a safe and nurturing environment for children, promoting their physical, emotional, and cognitive development.
  2. Plan and implement age-appropriate activities and learning experiences that cater to the diverse needs of our children.
  3. Support children's social, emotional, and cognitive development through engaging and interactive play-based learning.
  4. Monitor and record children's progress and development, providing regular updates to parents and carers.
  5. Communicate effectively with parents and carers, building strong relationships and ensuring their needs are met.
  6. Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a smooth running of the nursery, promoting a culture of teamwork and mutual respect.
  7. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the nursery, adhering to health and safety standards.

Requirements

  1. Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Minimum Level 3 in childcare, with a strong understanding of child development principles and practices.
  3. Previous experience working with young children in a nursery or childcare setting, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality care and education.
  4. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  5. Ability to work effectively as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meet the changing needs of the nursery.
  6. Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with children, with a commitment to providing a safe and nurturing environment.
