About the Role

CLevelCrossing seeks an exceptional Executive Director of Medical Affairs to join our team.

This is a unique opportunity for a senior healthcare leader to partner with health services, clinicians, and consumers to drive measurable improvement in patient care through the continual pursuit of excellence.

The successful candidate will provide strategic direction for public medical health services, leveraging their expertise in clinical trials, translational research, and policy consultation to drive meaningful change.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Partner with Chief Professional Officers to drive the implementation of strategic and operational initiatives.
  2. Provide Medical Workforce representation at State and National level to engage and support medical workforce development.
  3. Contribute to implementation of the Queensland Health strategic agenda.
  4. Champion and support research across Queensland Health as outlined in Queensland Advancing Health Research 2026.
  5. Remain up to date with the latest research findings and therapeutic interventions.
  6. Act as the Senior Responsible Officer under the Voluntary Assisted Dying Act.

Requirements

  • A degree in Medicine (MBBS or equivalent) from a registered tertiary institution.
  • Fellowship of an Australian Medical Specialist College.
  • Unrestricted General and Specialist registration as a medical officer with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • A minimum of five (5) years senior healthcare leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in clinical trials, including an understanding of and experience in translational research, with a sound knowledge of the conduct of clinical trials to International standards of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) in the Australian context.
  • Previous experience in policy consultation, development, and implementation would be beneficial for this role.
