Secure Engineering Professional - Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Senior Engineer to join our Digital Technology team, specifically within the Security Engineering division. This role will involve proactively monitoring and responding to potential threats, as well as providing expert guidance on secure coding practices to fellow developers.

This hands-on position will require collaboration with various engineering squads and security specialists to identify vulnerabilities, refine defences, and enhance the overall security posture of our applications and platforms.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity based in Sydney or Gold Coast, offering flexible hybrid working arrangements.

  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages: Swift, Kotlin, Java, C#, TypeScript
  • Experience with edge security platforms like Cloudflare or Akamai (desired but not essential)
  • Ability to detect, assess, and remediate vulnerabilities in live environments
  • Understanding of WAF/WAAP rules, threat analysis, and log monitoring
  • Strong communication skills and passion for coaching developers
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure)
