Job Title: Physical Education Teacher

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Physical Education Teacher to join our team at St George Preca School. As a Physical Education Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, teaching, and assessing the Physical Education and Sports program for 19 classes, using the Victorian Curriculum as the main reference.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Physical Education lessons that cater to the diverse range of learning needs of students.
  • Use data to inform teaching and make data-driven decisions to improve student outcomes.
  • Coordinate and oversee the School Athletics & Swimming Carnivals.
  • Assist senior school class teachers with inter-school organisation – Summer and Winter seasons.
  • Coordinate school representatives for zone and regional swimming; cross-country; athletics.
  • Coordinate whole school events, such as the Colour Fun Run and Footy Roadshow.
  • Attend appropriate professional development and share information with staff.
  • Demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills with colleagues, parents, and students.
  • Be committed to personal and professional growth.
  • Have registration (or eligibility) with V.I.T.
  • Preferably have accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic School.

  • Contribute as a member of a Professional Learning Team, planning and teaching in a collaborative environment focused on continual improvement.
  • Teach effectively to the diverse range of learning needs enriching the learning for all students.
  • Use data to inform teaching.
  • Have the ability to inspire and encourage students with a love of learning.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to and understanding of contemporary learning and teaching.
