Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team as an Assistant State Inspector. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing advanced technical information, advice, education, and compliance services that contribute to the prevention of harm and improvement in relation to hazardous electrical, plant, and relevant structures.

The Assistant State Inspector (Electrical) will work closely with industry associations and attend industry forums to represent our organization. They will conduct workplace visits and complex investigations into workplace incidents, injuries, and fatalities involving electrical incidents, hazardous plant, and/or mechanical & electrical safety.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or similar technical qualifications
  • Relevant industry experience in one or more of the following: Electrical system planning or design, Electrical high voltage management, forensic engineering, functional safety, hazardous plant and equipment design or management, electro mechanics, electrical infrastructure, electrical construction design, electrical safety
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in providing specialist advice and strategic leadership regarding compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and Electrical engineering codes of practice
  • Demonstrated ability to apply Electrical Engineering principles in a work health and safety context
