Job Title: Regulatory Affairs Specialist

Job Description:

Our organisation is seeking a skilled Regulatory Affairs Specialist to support our product formulation and recipes for regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring nutrition aspects of recipes and products meet global guidelines, training staff on labeling systems and guidelines, and collaborating with Legal, Marketing, and CST on consumer and industry queries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist R&D with product formulation and recipes for regulatory compliance;
  • Ensure nutrition aspects of recipes and products meet Heinz global and HW guidelines;
  • Train staff on labeling systems and guidelines;
  • Support QA with ingredient verification and product information;
  • Provide nutrition input to maintain product integrity;
  • Ensure accurate and compliant labeling and claims;
  • Collaborate with Legal, Marketing, and CST on consumer and industry queries;
  • Contribute to industry working groups and discussions on food regulation;
  • Submit responses to regulatory proposals and applications;
  • Arrange and review product analysis for compliance;
  • Provide regulatory input on new product development and product improvements;
  • Maintain systems for accurate and timely labeling and artwork approvals;
  • Compile and update nutrition and allergen data charts;
  • Support Consumer Support Team and Corporate Affairs with enquiries;
  • Collaborate on project teams to provide regulatory expertise and knowledge;

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Relevant Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Specifications Admin, NPD, QA, Technical Operations, or Food legislation, with a background in the food industry and application of food science knowledge;
  • Food Science Knowledge: Good understanding of food ingredients, additives, and regulations to support ingredient specification and apply food science knowledge;
  • Regulatory Awareness: Awareness of food regulations and experience with food legislation to ensure compliance;
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders;
