Welder

We are seeking an experienced Operator/Welder to join our team in a full-time capacity. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing pile cages using tack welds and operating a range of equipment, including auto cage pile machines, MIG welders, and overhead cranes.

1. Build required cages in accordance with customer specifications
2. Maintain and operate all cage making machines, cranes, and welding equipment in a safe manner
3. Pre-start checks on the cage making machine, crane, and welding machines
4. Ensure tags are scanned and attached to cages as required
5. Check that the product has been produced to the correct measurement
6. Follow expected work methods for the welder, cage maker, and cages
7. Ensure the correct PPE is worn
8. Produce required cages as efficiently and as safely as possible
9. Spend at least 15 minutes at the end of each shift for general housekeeping of the work area and machinery
10. Report any faults to your Manager or Supervisor immediately
11. Check on loads to ensure safe travel
12. Check bundles to ensure product is secured correctly

• At least six months of previous experience welding
• Basic metal inert gas welding experience
• Previous experience reading and interpreting basic drawings
• Welding Ticket or Fitter Trade Certificate highly regarded
• Previous experience working in the steel industry highly regarded
• Forklift license desirable
