About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team in Australia. This is an exciting opportunity to work on diverse electrical design projects across various industries.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and participating in the design and implementation of electrical systems, including LV and MV power systems. They will prepare detailed designs, drawings, and electrical calculations, as well as develop engineering documents such as design reports and scopes of work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and participate in electrical design projects, including concept, feasibility, design, construction support, and commissioning.
  • Prepare detailed electrical designs, drawings, and calculations for LV and MV power systems.
  • Develop engineering documents, including design reports, scopes of work, and equipment schedules.
  • Liaise with internal and external project teams to coordinate drafting throughout the design process.
  • Interface with clients and suppliers to ensure compliance with relevant standards, project basis of design document, and functional specification.
  • Participate in tender processes, preparing bid documents and identifying deliverable lists.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, promoting professional development within the team.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering.
  • Significant professional experience in consultancy, utility, mining, or resources environments.
  • Ability to perform power system analysis using ETAP or PTW electrical software.
  • Experience with power distribution and equipment specification.
  • Design knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Salary Information

We offer a competitive salary package, estimated to be around $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience.
