Optical Dispenser Role

We are seeking a skilled Optical Dispenser to assist our members with their eyewear needs.

  • Fits and adjusts lenses to frames, dispenses eyeglasses and contacts, and measures eyes for pupilary distance.
  • Answers questions and addresses problems regarding prescriptions, merchandise, and services, referring to Optometrists when necessary.
  • Processes sales and organizes member prescriptions, places special orders with outside suppliers, and stocks department equipment and supplies.
  • Cleans the department, ensures register cleanliness, and makes witnessed drops/deposits of excess funds.
  • Receives accurate payment for merchandise and processes checks, credit, and debit charges according to proper procedures.
  • Exercises discretion and confidentiality with all patient information.
  • Follows proper Optical Center and general safety and security procedures.

About This Role

  • The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively as part of a team, and enjoy high attention to detail.
  • A Certificate IV in Optical Dispensing or previous optical experience is highly desirable.
