Job Summary
Senior Contracts AdministratorWe are seeking an experienced Senior Contracts Administrator to provide oversight and guidance to our subcontract administration team. The successful candidate will ensure that all subcontracts' agreements are meticulously administered in line with the stipulations and provisions outlined in the subcontract agreements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide oversight and guidance to the subcontract administration team.
- Lead by example in managing key subcontracts, including correspondence, variations, claims, and payments.
- Develop an understanding of the head contract to enable proper management of subcontracts and protect our project's financial interests.
- Create and manage tender packages in collaboration with procurement.
- Assist with and advise on the preparation of subcontractor tender packages.
- Analyze, compare, and clarify offers received; conduct negotiations with subcontractors to achieve value for money and effective cost management.
- Close out commercial qualifications and prepare recommendations for award, obtaining approval per limits of authority.
- Prepare subcontractor agreements and advise team members on their interpretation and application.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and verify fulfillment of commitments by subcontractors and suppliers.
- Methodically archive all records in line with procedures as the project progresses.
- Prepare and coordinate reports as required and participate in cash flow forecasts.
- Process progress claims, monitor payments, and manage disputes with subcontractors.
- Manage subcontractor claims, extensions of time, and variations, coordinating assessments and notices.
- Work with relevant team members to measure progress, performance, and costs, and collate data for analysis and reporting.
- Maintain industrial requirement records for each subcontractor.
- Maintain registers of contracts, variations, delays, and extensions for reporting.
Requirements:
- At least 10 years of experience in contract administration.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, administration, engineering, quantity surveying, law, or a relevant field.
- Strong business acumen, tendering, financial management, and contract interpretation skills.
- Experience in claims, dispute resolution, and negotiations.
- Proven leadership, negotiation, and lateral thinking skills.
- Demonstrable financial management skills, including cost reduction and budget management.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Computer proficiency; SAP experience is an advantage.
