Primary Intervention Teacher

The Primary Intervention Teacher plays a crucial role in collaborating with teachers, students, parents and the support team to create an inclusive environment that enhances individualised student learning, engagement, and wellbeing as per the students' needs.

The successful applicant should be a committed professional who is actively involved in their community. They should have a genuine love of children and be committed to their growth in learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teachers to provide individualised interventions for students.
  • Guide teachers in developing curriculum for the learning interventions to support students with marginal needs.
  • Provide advice to teachers in managing student behavior of students with disability or with marginal needs.
  • Guide teachers and assist in record-keeping and documentation related to student learning progress and outcomes.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Exemplify professionalism in the workplace ensuring that all activities are undertaken with a strong commitment and focus.
  • Perform day-to-day duties prayerfully and consistent with a biblical lifestyle with the aim of bringing glory to God.

Student Learning Support with Individualised Interventions:

  • Assess, observe and support students who have borderline requirements and need adequate yet marginal learning support.
  • Use data-driven strategies to provide targeted student interventions. Offer small-group or one-on-one student support in hybrid and bite-sized learning programs.
  • Conduct observations and assessments to build basic interventions.
  • Supervise and monitor student learning support efforts and progress in discussion with teachers.

Classroom and Curriculum Guidance:

  • Guide teachers in planning and implementing effective learning interventions and activities to identify students with marginal needs.
  • Provide support in developing curriculum for the learning needs.

Student Wellbeing and Engagement:

  • Ensure that emotional and social support is being provided to students, to promote positive learning experiences in a structured manner.
  • Provide advice to teachers in managing student behavior of students with disability or with marginal needs.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support teams, school leadership and other corresponding teams to enhance student outcomes under guidance.
  • Maintain open and respectful communication with parents and caregivers regarding student progress.

Administrative and Other Duties:

  • Guide teachers and assist in record-keeping and documentation related to student learning progress and outcomes.
  • Facilitate necessary documentation and notes, with diligence and consultation with parents.
  • Ensure interventions are implemented and tracked to oversee student outcomes.

Selection Criteria:

  • A personal relationship with Jesus Christ, actively attending local Church, and willingly supporting the vision of the organisation.
  • Knowledge of and deep commitment to child safety in an education setting.
  • Current Working with Children Check.
