About the Role

Rio Tinto is seeking a highly skilled Senior Specialist to join our Procurement Program Management Office (PMO) team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in influencing the strategic direction of our regional and global procurement teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic analytical support to the Principal Advisor - Procurement, including developing and maintaining reporting dashboards using Power BI or similar tools.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to identify opportunities for standardization and process improvements, and implement changes to drive business value.
  • Support leadership in their regular meetings, cadences, and utilization of resources, and provide training and development opportunities to upskill the capability and consistency in work practices across the procurement cohort.
  • Act as a centralized reference point and key interface point in relation to the regional and global category teams, and collaborate with contract owners and Category Managers to provide data and insights to drive procurement spend to automated and contracted buying channels.
  • Provide support to deliver ad-hoc procurement-related projects or initiatives, and collaborate with functional stakeholders across Finance, Business Transformation, Product Groups, and global procurement network to align methodologies for annual targets and procurement priorities.

Requirements

  • A degree qualification with recent experience as an Analyst or Reporting Specialist, postgraduate qualifications or MBA highly desirable in technical or commercial disciplines.
  • Strong influencing, strategic thinking, stakeholder engagement, and communication capabilities.
  • Strong Excel technical skills, with proven experience developing reporting dashboards using Power BI or similar tools.
  • A balanced view, strong proficiency, and an aptitude to present exceptional work and the work of the PMO team to stakeholders at all levels.
