About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Application Security Specialist to join our team at Youi Insurance. As a key member of our Cyber Security Team, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our applications and ensuring the security of our clients' data.

As a Cyber Application Security Specialist, you will be responsible for aligning our security architecture with industry standards, defining and implementing security patterns, and overseeing remediation to protect against threats. You will also establish and maintain security policies and processes, ensuring resilience in both on-premises and cloud applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage, operate, and continuously improve our solutions to identify and assess vulnerabilities in applications and their source code.
  • Support the implementation of security patterns for typical controls such as authentication, authorization, data validation, and session management.
  • Contribute to a secure development framework, detailing both functional and non-functional security controls for modern web applications and services.
  • Support developers, platform engineers, and infrastructure teams throughout the secure development lifecycle.
  • Automate secure DevOps processes and integrate automatic security testing scripts.
  • Develop and track security relevant metrics for all applications, whether on-premises or in the cloud.
  • Design and deliver a training and awareness program focused on secure coding practices.
Requirements
  • Experience in application security, DevSecOps, or a related role, focused on client-facing cloud services or complex enterprise solutions (3+ years is a general indicator).
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business field (desirable).
  • Experience as a.NET Developer and relevant certification (desirable).
  • Security certifications (e.g., OSCP, CEH, GWEB, CSSLP) (desirable).
  • Strong foundation in security principles, threat modelling, risk management, and vulnerability assessment.
  • Experience with cloud services, particularly in Microsoft Azure.
  • Proficient in solution architecture reviews and integrating cybersecurity into complex systems.
  • Experience with cloud security and tools for code analysis and vulnerability scanning (e.g., Github Advanced Security, BurpSuite).
  • Familiarity with agile development practices.
  • Skilled in scoping and managing penetration tests, risk-assess findings, and tracking remediation.
  • Knowledge of security configuration, automation, and SDLC principles.
  • Understanding of key web application security risks (e.g., OWASP Top 10, CWE/SANS Top 25).
  • Experience with penetration testing frameworks (e.g., OSSTMM, OWASP).
  • Familiarity with automated testing and analysis tools.
  • DevOps scripting from a developer perspective.
  • Expertise in application vulnerability remediation and threat modelling for secure development.
