Job Title: Laboratory Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Assistant to join our team at SGS in Shepparton, VIC. As a Laboratory Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our testing and sample receipt processes, ensuring timely results.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform analysis as per SGS methods and procedures, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Support the Sample Reception & Chemistry team in maintaining a smooth workflow.
  • Conduct QC checks, calibrations on instruments, and take corrective action as necessary.
  • Represent SGS on site and during client visits, providing excellent customer service.
  • Provide a sample pick up and drop off service to SGS key clients, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Prepare sample bottles and assist with sample receipt on the Shepparton site.
  • Ensure analysis and data are accurate and reliable.
  • Perform risk assessments and internal audits to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications in Environmental or Microbiology.
  • Previous experience in a laboratory environment, with a strong understanding of laboratory procedures.
  • Able to comprehend and provide feedback on technical issues, with basic report writing skills.
  • Understanding of measurement and testing techniques related to environmental field sampling.
  • Valid Victorian full driver's license.
