About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Engineer to join our team at Verbrec, a leading provider of engineering, operations, and training services across the entire asset lifecycle. As a Senior Process Engineer, you will play a key role in driving our transition to renewable energy systems and decarbonisation.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide expertise and manage process design through engineering phases from concept/select, FEED through to detailed design and delivery.
  2. Proactively communicate with Project Managers and Team Members to ensure Projects are delivered within scope, schedule, and budget.
  3. Manage and track single-discipline projects.
  4. Write technical reports as required.
  5. Prepare proposals and tenders (hours estimation and scope definition) for new and ongoing works.
  6. QA role to other lead engineers.
  7. Provide technical guidance to develop junior engineers.
  8. Source new clients and leverage existing relationships to promote the Process offering and drive opportunities.
Requirements
  1. Process Engineering degree (or equivalent) with 6+ years process design experience in the Oil & Gas, and/or Future Fuels industries.
  2. CPEng or CEng/RPEQ registration.
  3. Excellent skills in using Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, and DNV PHAST software.
  4. Sound knowledge of process safety including risk identification and assessment through HAZID/HAZOP, dispersion/radiation analysis, and hazardous area classification.
  5. Skills in preparing P&ID's, PFD's, heat and material balances, instruments and equipment data sheets, utilities flow diagrams, and chemical consumption/effluent summaries.
  6. Ability and experience in providing technical support through the full lifecycle of the projects, ranging from feasibility and concept select studies through to FEED, detailed design, and commissioning.
  7. Ability to be hands on, flexible and work autonomously on multiple projects.
  8. A confident communicator and team player with the ability to drive projects and clients' success.
  9. Skills in tackling conflicting deadlines and manage them by prioritization.
  10. HAZOP / LOPA Facilitator experience and accreditation desirable, but not mandatory.
  11. Familiarity with the relevant Australian and International Standards.
  12. A mix of consulting and operational experience would be an advantage.
