Pact Packaging Australia is a leading manufacturer of sustainable packaging solutions. As we pioneer a whole of product life cycle approach, we integrate supply chain efficiencies and environmental best practices into our designs and manufacturing processes.

The Dandenong site specializes in the production of rigid plastic packaging for the consumer sector. We are seeking a Workplace Health and Safety Advisor to oversee and drive the consistent implementation of WH&S systems across the site, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical obligations for a healthy and safe workplace.

As a WH&S leader on site, you will connect site activities with group-level initiatives and champion the implementation of the Group WH&S System (policy, procedures, and tools). This includes communicating with site management, conducting regular inspections and audits, supporting hazard assessments, and overseeing incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions related to health, pollution, contamination, and waste management.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing oversight of health, safety, and environmental incidents, supporting incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Monitoring and driving activities with external regulatory bodies, such as WorkSafe and EPA, and recommending continuous improvements for the Group HSES System.
  • Planning and implementing environmental, health, and safety programs.
  • Identifying common hazards at the site and establishing guidelines for hazard control.
  • Promoting a zero-harm culture by providing expert advice, support, and driving the implementation of the Group HSES system, including advising site leadership.
  • Training and educating site leaders on Pact's safety management systems.
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation, codes of practice, standards, and associated obligations.
  • Skills in hazard identification, risk management, and incident investigation.
  • Experience in implementing, monitoring, and auditing safety or environmental management systems.
  • High computer literacy and administrative skills.
  • Experience working in manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to work effectively both on-site and remotely within a broader HSES team.
