The primary purpose of this role is to evaluate, diagnose, treat and provide consultation to patients of all ages presenting in any condition. Medical officers will work under an appropriate level of supervision according to their level of competence in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings.

Gosford Hospital serves as the central point of administration for our health services. This hospital has a capacity of around 700 inpatient beds for surgical services and handles a caseload of approximately 26,000 per year. The hospital offers a range of specialties including vascular, major urology and a developing chronic pain service, all supported by a brand new 20-bed ICU.

The NSW Central Coast is strategically located between Sydney and Newcastle, with a growing population expected to reach 450,000 before 2030. Our organization provides opportunities for professional development and growth through regular teaching sessions, workshops and simulation training.

The Anaesthetic Department is highly motivated and committed to teaching and training. Good exam pass rates are achieved due to regular teaching, exam preparation courses, weekly clinical teaching sessions and practical workshops. These workshops cover in-house ALS & CICO, regional workshops, Neonatal Resuscitation, Retrieval Medicine training, Chest Tube workshop and Trauma Team training.
