About the Role: As a key member of our team, you will represent the State in criminal cases, exercising significant responsibility in prosecuting matters in various courts.

Your Opportunity: This is a temporary flexible full-time position from 06/01/2025 to 28/06/2025, with a possibility of extension.

Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • You will appear as leading counsel in a range of criminal proceedings, including superior court trials.
  • Provide authoritative advice on questions of criminal law and evidence.
  • Exercise discretion to initiate, vary and discontinue serious criminal charges.
  • Communicate persuasively with judges, defence counsel, solicitors, police officers, witnesses, victims of crime and court officials.
  • Motivate and contribute to professional development and supervision of legal officers and support staff.
  • Be actively involved in improving practices and identifying needs of victims of crime.

Mandatory Qualifications: You must be admitted as a Legal Practitioner in a State or Territory of Australia.
