Job Overview
As a Principal Engineer, you will play a key role in managing the planning and delivery of major infrastructure projects across the state. Your technical expertise and leadership skills will be essential in ensuring the successful delivery of these projects within time, quality, cost, and stakeholder expectations.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage the delivery and ongoing development of key infrastructure projects, identifying and addressing deficiencies and gaps in the network.
- Provide effective leadership to a team of internal and external resources engaged in the delivery of various programs.
- Develop project management plans and provide reports on progress and expenditure.
- Ensure performance management systems are in place and effective in supporting the delivery of programs and individual projects.
- Evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of projects and implement changes to improve productivity and efficiency.
- Apply relevant standards, policies, guidelines, and legislative requirements to ensure responsible decision-making and high-quality outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with other project owners and managers to deliver complex cross-boundary projects.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on contractual management, issues resolution, monitoring of key outcomes, and contract performance.
Requirements
- Highly developed technical skills and knowledge in engineering and project management.
- Proven experience in leading and managing large-scale projects and teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders and priorities.
