About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Culinary Apprentice to join our team at Albany Creek Retirement Village. As an Apprentice Chef, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, preparing and presenting meals for our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of meals, ensuring quality, dietary requirements, and preferences are met.
  • Support compliance with Food Safety Plan practices and maintain a clean, hygienic kitchen environment.
  • Learn how to manage food supplies, including ordering, checking stock, and minimizing waste.
  • Ensure proper use and cleaning of kitchen equipment, adhering to manufacturer instructions and infection control practices.
  • Work with fellow Food & Beverage or Cook/Chef staff to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements
  • A passion for food and cooking, and someone who will enjoy being in a kitchen team of around 1-4 others.
  • Currently undertaking your Certificate III in Commerical Cookery studies, ideally in Year 2 or 3.
  • A positive person who possesses a 'can do' attitude, is reliable, and wants to grow within our organisation.
  • Valid drivers license and car (as you might have the opportunity to help at some functions, events, or shifts across our neighbouring communities).
  • Current Police check (required, but we can complete for you).
  • Minimum of two (2) COVID-19 Vaccinations (required).
