The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Work Health and Safety Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the highest possible Work Health and Safety (WHS) program and will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the WHS program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations of the WHS program, including conducting risk assessments, developing and implementing safety procedures, and providing guidance to employees on WHS matters.
  • Provide training and coaching to employees on WHS procedures and protocols.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with WHS regulations and company policies.
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses, and develop recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote a positive WHS culture within the organization.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that WHS is integrated into all aspects of the business.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1-2 years' experience working in a WHS role within a manufacturing or retail environment.
  • Strong knowledge of WHS regulations and standards, including ISO 45001.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
