Job Title

SMEC is a global engineering, management and development consultancy delivering innovative solutions for clients and partners. Leveraging our history of delivering infrastructure, we provide technical expertise and advanced services to resolve complex challenges across major projects.

The company seeks a Senior Track Engineer for its Melbourne office. The candidate will lead track design projects in Victoria and contribute to national rail projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Experience producing track design work on major Rail projects in Victoria.
  • An engineering degree and over 10 years of track/permanent way alignment design experience.
  • Chartered (CPEng) status with competencies in the Victorian and national rail agencies.
  • Practical knowledge using civil design software i.e.12d or Bentley OpenRail or Microstation.
  • Plan, design and execute projects meeting client expectations within budget and schedule.
  • Supervise project staff reviewing deliverables for technical and quality assurance compliance.
  • Monitor costs ensuring they do not exceed approved limits.
