Conservation Ocean Manager Job Description

This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the acceleration of ocean conservation efforts through partnership. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic site engagements team, providing coordination and project management support to advance objectives in the Pacific region.

The position involves driving the implementation of engagement frameworks, maintaining regular contact with grantees, and identifying potential risks and challenges throughout implementation. Additionally, the candidate will provide direct technical support as needed to advance site-based objectives and build local capacity.

Key Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will have a strong network of relevant contacts and the ability to leverage these relationships to advance objectives. Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 5 years of specialized experience and partnership management in ocean conservation and/or political advocacy gained through professional education, training, fieldwork, and practical hands-on experience handling multiple partnerships
  • Sensible to and knowledgeable about Pacific ways
  • Outcome-oriented style with focus on achieving measurable and ambitious goals
Working Conditions:

Typical office environment, frequent international travel anticipated, including to remote locations. Priority will be given to pacific island-based candidates.
