About the Role

Softlabs is seeking a senior engineer to join their technology consulting firm based in ACT, QLD, SA, and VIC. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining internet gateway and large-scale data centre networking environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, manage, and maintain internet gateway and large-scale data centre networking environments
  • Provide expert advice on the management and maintenance of ICT platforms
  • Work closely with key third-party suppliers to ensure the provision of a robust gateway infrastructure capability
  • Liaise with architecture and shared services areas to ensure the security of day-to-day technical operations
  • Exercise high-level judgement and consideration of wider agency implications
Requirements
  • A minimum of five (5) years demonstrated experience in the design, management, and maintenance of internet gateway and/or large-scale data centre networking environments
  • Demonstrated experience and technical proficiency in the design of services utilising F5/Blue Coat Layer 4-7 switching, load balancing, and proxy systems
  • Demonstrated experience in the design and deployment of network infrastructure, including Cisco Data centre technologies like Cisco ACI, Cisco Routers, nexus switches, and routing protocols like BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP
  • Demonstrated experience with and/or detailed understanding of Palo Alto firewalls and IPS Solutions
  • Demonstrated experience in the design and implementation of VPN technologies, email, and DNS (Infoblox) Solutions
  • Demonstrated experience in the design and integration of hybrid and public cloud services
  • Demonstrated experience in the development and maintenance of system architecture and design documentation
  • Demonstrated experience with or knowledge of Australian Government information security policies, the ASD Information Security Manual, and Essential Eight
