About the Role

A key opportunity has arisen for an experienced Leading Counsellor to join the Wellbeing Attendance team on a permanent, part-time basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to oversee the systemic rollout and implementation of multi-tiered systems of support to improve student outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and maintenance of CSPD attendance policy and procedures.
  • Provide expertise in attendance and support the development and maintenance of CSPD enterprise systems.
  • Work with teachers and system leaders to facilitate professional growth and build capacity to implement effective learning and attendance support interventions.
  • Collaborate with school teams to promote partnerships with parents, carers, and community.
About You
  • Demonstrated experience in leading counsellors and school teams.
  • Strong knowledge base in systems thinking and how systems intersect.
  • Interest in student attendance.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in social work and/or psychology, along with a minimum of three years' experience as a registered psychologist or social worker.
  • Registered psychologist or social worker eligible for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • Capacity to make a significant contribution within schools to matters related to student welfare and wellbeing.
  • Evidence-based professionally informed judgement in dealing with sensitive issues.
  • Capacity to engage students, parents, and teachers in the counselling process.
  • Capability to facilitate parent and care-giver education.
  • Supportive of our Catholic ethos.

This position involves working with children. The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child-related employment, including a valid Working with Children Check and compliance with CSPD's Child Safeguarding Procedures and Code of Conduct When Working With Students and Children.
