Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our poultry production team as a Farm Poultry Worker. This role involves working efficiently and cohesively within a team environment on a rotating roster to ensure the welfare of domestic poultry, supporting the efficient production of high-quality eggs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily feed, water, temperature, and welfare checks in poultry sheds to ensure the care and health of young birds.
- Handle, identify, and inspect poultry.
- Follow established practices and complete activities on-site to attain the best possible productivity, ensuring bird husbandry and performance meet or exceed company standards.
- Maintain a high level of quality control in accordance with business quality assurance standards, focusing on continuous improvement of systems.
- Comply with Animal Welfare and good stock practices for the care and handling of birds as required.
- Participate in training and work within the scope of that training.
- Complete all necessary documentation comprehensively.
- Communicate effectively with relevant business partners on a day-to-day basis.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will need to have a Bachelor's degree qualification in agriculture, animal science, poultry, or equivalent. Technical proficiency with poultry rearing systems is highly regarded. At least 2 years' experience in medium to large-scale commercial poultry production is essential. A caring attitude towards poultry livestock and a willingness to comply with relevant legislation and work standards are also required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree qualification in agriculture, animal science, poultry, or equivalent.
- Technical proficiency with poultry rearing systems.
- At least 2 years' experience in medium to large-scale commercial poultry production.
- Caring attitude towards poultry livestock.
- Willingness to comply with relevant legislation and work standards.
