The Role

We are seeking a Laundry Attendant to join our team at JW Marriott. As a Laundry Attendant, you will be responsible for ensuring that all linen is washed, pressed, and returned to the hotel in a timely and efficient manner. This will involve operating and monitoring washing, drying, and drying machinery, as well as folding and ironing clean linen.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure correct usage of all equipment
  • Maintain linen room and equipment in high standard of cleanliness and repair
  • Comply with and demonstrate awareness of Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures
  • Washing, drying, pressing, and folding clean linen from rooms and outlets
  • Operate and monitor washing, dry cleaning, and drying machinery, including adding chemicals and cleaning lint traps
  • Identify stained or damaged items and determine status for repair, spot treatment, rewash, or discard
  • Inspect cleanliness of articles removed from the washer, dryer, or dry-cleaning machines and place in clean linen carts
  • Set dryers to designated times and temperatures based on fabrics contained in load
  • Remove lint and debris from dryer screens, dry cleaning filters, and drain trap after each load
  • Fold cleaned articles into designated size, either by hand or using folding machine
  • Maintain accurate records of items laundered

Requirements

  • Friendly personality and positive attitude
  • Good communications skills – ability to develop rapport within a short time frame
  • To be able to work in a team environment
