
Aboriginal Healthcare Opportunity in Rural Queensland

This is a challenging opportunity for a General Practitioner to join a dynamic healthcare team in Warwick, Queensland. The successful candidate will be based at an Aboriginal Medical Service (AMS) that provides medical services to the local community.
The AMS has a strong commitment to increasing access to medical services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families. This position will play a critical role in achieving this goal by providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of innovative health programs.
- Warwick Based: The position is based in Warwick, a regional town in southern Queensland.
- No After Hours or Weekends: The successful candidate will not be required to work after hours or weekends.
The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for delivering healthcare services to disadvantaged communities. They will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
About the Role:
This full-time position involves working Monday to Friday, with no after hours or weekend commitments. The successful candidate will be part of a close-knit team that is dedicated to providing exceptional patient care.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Current Registration with AHPRA: The successful candidate must be currently registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Vocationally Registered: The ideal candidate will be vocationally registered as a General Practitioner.
- Medical Indemnity Insurance: The successful candidate will need to hold current medical indemnity insurance.
- Interest in Indigenous Health: A strong interest in and understanding of issues related to Indigenous health and wellbeing is essential.
- Knowledge of Working with Children and Families: The successful candidate will need to have knowledge of working with children and families through their antenatal and postnatal journeys.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills are required, as well as the ability to build and maintain productive working relationships.
