About the Role

Amazon is seeking a skilled Maintenance and Engineering Specialist to join our team at our Fulfillment Center in Jandakot. As a key member of our Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team, you will play a critical role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment across our global network of fulfillment centers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance on a range of equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • React quickly to breakdowns, communicate clearly with affected teams, and work efficiently to resolve issues.
  • Support continuous improvement by learning from breakdowns and sending feedback and suggestions for improvements through the line manager.
  • Provide high levels of equipment availability to our internal customers.
  • Support and learn from Senior Maintenance Technicians.

A Day in the Life

As a Maintenance and Engineering Specialist, you will be based on-site, allowing you to respond quickly to any machinery issues. You will carry out a range of planned preventative maintenance tasks to ensure our equipment is working safely and efficiently. You will also respond promptly to breakdowns, investigating, finding, and implementing solutions as quickly as possible. Additionally, you will make suggestions for long-term improvements.

Our RME team is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment across our global network of fulfillment centers. We work together to ensure our equipment is performing at its best, and we are committed to continuous improvement. As a Maintenance and Engineering Specialist, you will be part of a dynamic team that is passionate about delivering exceptional results.

Requirements

  • Formal trade qualifications: Certificate III in Electrotechnology with current electrical trade license or Certificate III in Engineering/Mechanical Trade (Fitter/Turner)
  • Experience of planned preventative maintenance systems
  • Experience fault finding within Material Handling Equipment/Automation systems
  • Ability to read and understand electrical/mechanical drawings
  • Experience of conveyor maintenance, motor controllers/inverters
  • Experience of working to appropriate health and safety standards and regulations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience of computer maintenance systems (CMMS)
  • Experience of sortation machines
  • Experience in an industrial environment
  • Experience of maintaining/configuring bar code scanners
  • Experience of print and apply machines
