About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Agronomist to join our team in Humpty Doo, Darwin, or Katherine locations. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with our clients to provide superior agronomic advice and inputs, focusing on horticultural agronomy and summer crop production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Share information with producers related to environmental and seasonal conditions affecting production
  • Perform soil testing and study other factors affecting production to provide sound fertiliser, nutrient, and soil recommendations to improve quality and yield
  • Work closely with clients to design improvement programs to increase yield and productivity
  • Conduct field demonstrations and trial work for product development in conjunction with key suppliers
  • Work with branch staff to drive promotions, merchandising, and sales performance
About You

To be successful, you will have established yourself as a trusted advisor in an agronomy role and demonstrate an understanding of the products, seasonal timings, and general requirements of rural producers.

  • You will have strong technical knowledge in agronomic practices and application, ideally with a solid understanding of horticultural crop production and cotton agronomy
  • You will have proven experience building enduring and successful partnerships with customers, delivering appropriate agronomic advice and services
  • You will have a history of success in executing sales outcomes using your specialist knowledge of fertiliser, seed, and chemical products
  • You will demonstrate excellent negotiation, influencing, and communication skills
  • Your sound customer service, organisational, administrative, and computing skills will be complemented by excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A tertiary qualification in agricultural science/plant and soil science or similar is essential
  • A clean and current Driver's license is essential
