Optimise Linux for Latest Hardware

As a Senior Software Engineering Manager, you will lead an engineering team that works across the full Linux stack from kernel to GUI.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead distributed engineers in designing and implementing optimal Ubuntu integration for latest hardware platforms and software stacks
  • Engage with commercial partners to deliver exceptional, optimised Ubuntu experiences on their platforms
  • Develop your team through coaching, mentoring, leading by example, and providing constructive feedback
  • Oversee commercial engagements and support timely delivery of project milestones
  • Ensure adherence to strict quality and reliability standards
  • Collaborate with other teams at Canonical to ensure alignment on product architecture and roadmaps

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Linux distributions, debian packaging, and high-performance server-class hardware
  • Effective communication skills in English, both written and oral
  • Demonstrated experience managing or leading a team of software engineers
  • Understanding of agile software development methodologies
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple internal teams, building trust and delivering results
