We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Support Professional to join our team in the Bundamba area. As a key member of our support network, you will play a vital role in ensuring the wellbeing of children and young people in foster and kinship care families.

**Job Description**

In this role, you will be responsible for undertaking screening, intake, and placement partnering processes for children and young people. You will also utilize assessment, crisis, and short-term intervention skills and therapeutic approaches to clients, reporting issues to management as needed.

You will contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and care arrangements to meet individual needs, facilitating the delivery of evidence-based parenting programs to parents and carers.

Additionally, you will coordinate recruitment of and provide ongoing support to carers, generating comprehensive assessments and reports regarding the initial and ongoing suitability of carers and/or young people.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Undertake screening, intake, and placement partnering processes for children and young people

**Required Skills and Qualifications:**

  • Degree qualification in social work, psychology, social sciences, or a related discipline
  • Experience working with children, young people, and families in a child protection or community service context
  • Applied knowledge and understanding of child protection and out-of-home care frameworks
  • Demonstrated ability to complete assessments for care
  • Experience working with First Nations people
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Domestic and Family Violence Protection Act 2012 and Child Protection Act 1999
  • Sound understanding of child development and trauma theory
  • Current driver's licence - P2 minimum

**Location:** Bundamba area

**Estimated Salary:** $70,000 - $80,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
