The Role
We are seeking an experienced Fire Protection Engineer to join our Melbourne team and contribute to local and national building projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing fire protection engineering design documentation, from concept through to tender and construction phase.
- Collaborating with other design teams and engineering disciplines to ensure the coordination and resolution of project design solutions.
- Assisting in the delivery of project-related tasks to meet budget, timeframe, and quality targets.
- Interfacing with relevant authorities and project stakeholders.
- Attending inspections and collaborating with trade contractors to ensure that designs are installed on-site in accordance with briefed requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor to Master level degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Civil or Building Services Engineering).
- 7+ years of industry experience within an Australian building services consulting engineering practice.
- Professional Engineer accreditation under the Victorian BLA framework or the ability to attain the accreditation within a short period.
- Well-versed across a range of building sectors, e.g. commercial, health, residential, transport, or defence.
- Experience with fire protection services engineering design and negotiations with relevant authorities.
- Intermediate knowledge of relevant Australia Standards and Building Code of Australia.
- Excellent time management, written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency with fire protection/hydraulic design packages such as HYENA.
- Understanding of Revit MEP, NavisWorks, and BIM would be advantageous but not essential.
