Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team at Alzheimer's Queensland. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in residential aged care, specifically caring for elderly individuals with dementia. Additionally, we are looking for someone with a strong clinical background, including experience in wound care, incontinence management, falls prevention, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to residents with dementia, including wound care, incontinence management, and falls prevention.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each resident.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care and support for residents and their families.
  • Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to identify areas for improvement and implement changes as needed.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities to stay up-to-date on best practices in dementia care.

Requirements

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Extensive experience in residential aged care, specifically caring for elderly individuals with dementia.
  • Strong clinical background, including experience in wound care, incontinence management, falls prevention, and documentation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to providing exceptional care and support.
