Job Summary

Wood is seeking a highly skilled Principal Instrument Designer to join its team in the Northern Territory as part of its Operations APAC West business.

The successful candidate will be responsible for acting as the Instrument & Control Designer on brownfields oil & gas projects, taking ownership of discipline design commitments and requirements, and ensuring deliverables are consistently checked, accurate and presentable.

About the Role

  • Design and develop instrumentation and control systems for oil and gas projects
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design meets project requirements
  • Provide day-to-day services to the project, including design, documentation, and testing

Requirements

  • Must be an Australian citizen or hold Permanent Residency (PR) and be able to work lawfully in Australia without company sponsorship
  • Suitably qualified in Instrument Design Engineering from a recognized institution, with a minimum of 12+ years of proven experience in the Oil & Gas Brownfields Engineering / EPCM sector
  • Relevant Certificate or suitably qualified by industry experience
  • Experience in E3D, SPI, SPEL and/or Navisworks Simulator is advantageous
  • Ability to interpret and translate engineering concepts into practical designs
  • Professional demeanor and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead and work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Solutions mindset and ability to manage varying tasks with often changing and competing priorities
