About the Role

AusNet Services Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Accountant to join our Group Reporting & Accounting Management team. As a critical member of our finance team, you will play a pivotal role in assisting the Statutory Reporting Manager with complex accounting processes associated with audit and preparation of financial statements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Financial Reporting & Policy Lead with complex accounting processes including:
    • Lease accounting
    • Cash flow statements
    • Provisions
    • Cost allocation and segment reporting
    • Tax-effect accounting
  • Prepare technical accounting advice for the broader finance team
  • Respond to audit queries
  • Assist in preparation of Board and Audit Committee papers
  • Due diligence procedures and internal controls for Group reporting
  • Preparation of financial statements and associated analytical reviews
Requirements
  • Chartered Accountant, CPA or equivalent (Newly qualified, 1 or 2 years post qualified)
  • Training in application of accounting standards or audit
  • Experience in full suite of financial accounting tasks and strong experience in accurate financial reporting
  • Possess exceptional communication skills, allowing you to clearly explain complex financial matters to executive level stakeholders and external auditors
  • Ability to lead and project manage the financial statements audit, collaborating with our auditors and finance colleagues to ensure high quality deliverables meet deadlines and audits are followed through to completion
