About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Health Promotion Officer to join our team in Western Public Health Unit. The successful candidate will work closely with key stakeholders to develop, implement and evaluate health promotion initiatives.

Job Overview

This is a full-time (80 hours per fortnight) temporary parental leave cover position for 12 months. The role involves leading projects through their life cycle, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, and contributing to the development of our work in priority areas such as healthier eating and food systems, reducing vaping and tobacco-related harm, and tackling climate change and its impact on health.

Responsibilities
  • Lead projects through the life cycle in line with deliverables for the WPHU catchment plan, WPHU strategy and Victorian Public Health and Wellbeing Plan;
  • Work collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders to facilitate and foster involvement across all work priorities;
  • Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of our work in three priority areas: improving healthier eating and food systems, reducing vaping and tobacco-related harm, and tackling climate change and its impact on health;
  • Maintain role requirements and demonstrate skills in leadership, flexibility, upholding organisational values and a commitment to continuous improvement;
Requirements
  • Possession of relevant qualifications and experience in health promotion or a related field;
  • Demonstrated understanding of population health promotion principles and practices;
  • Ability to lead projects and work collaboratively with stakeholders;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
What We Offer
  • A salary package of $85,000 - $105,000 per annum, plus superannuation and annual leave loading;
