Talent Butler seeks a highly skilled Financial Director to lead financial strategy and operations for our esteemed private property group.

This pivotal role is responsible for overseeing all financial activities, ensuring financial health and sustainability. The successful candidate will drive financial performance, manage capital needs, and align financial strategies with the company's growth objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Accounting-related activities, including high-level accounting, managerial accounting, and finance activities.
  • Preparation of operating budgets, overseeing financial reports, and performing essential duties relating to payroll.
  • Monitor variances, summarise trends, and investigate budget deficiencies, reporting material budgeting variances or expenditure variances to upper management.
  • Accounts payable/receivable, payroll, tax, and treasury management, collection, analysis, and consolidation of financial data.
  • Lead the finance team in ensuring timely and accurate financial processing and reporting weekly, monthly, and yearly as well as quarterly board reports/tax pack preparations.
  • Manage weekly cash flows, ensuring adequate liquidity for operational needs and project development.
  • Understanding tax returns/financial statements giving clear direction for external financial advisory groups.

The ideal candidate will be a Chartered Accountant with experience in the property and/or development industry in Australia, having held prior roles within a High Net Worth individual or a privately run property and development group. A strong personality with great communication skills, ability to manage both up and down with conviction and credibility, and a willingness to work to deadlines are essential requirements.

On offer is a very competitive salary package of between $200,000 and $250,000, plus a discretionary bonus based on performance outcomes. This role offers a pathway for progression into a CFO role and may also appeal to those currently at CFO level.
