In this role, you will support the Operational Analysis and Engineering team with key engineering functions including roll out and integration of the high-speed synchrophasor network across the National Electricity Market; development of new applications utilizing PMU data to manage emerging power system risks and phenomena such as sub-synchronous controller interaction; event detection and analysis in operational timeframes.

This role can be based at any of our office locations across multiple states.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the pathways that provide PMU data to the NEM control room and offline staff.
  • Gather requirements from internal and external stakeholders on use cases for PMU analytics.
  • Develop novel analytics and visualizations for monitoring power system security using PMU data including oscillation detection and inertia estimation.
  • Support the team with root cause investigation of power system events through data analytics.
  • Document technical findings and recommendations.
