About the Opportunity

We are seeking an exceptional Medical Educator and Researcher to join our team at the University of Tasmania's Launceston Clinical School. As a key member of our academic community, you will play a vital role in shaping the next generation of medical professionals.

Job Summary

This is a part-time (0.2FTE), two-year fixed-term appointment that offers a unique opportunity to drive impactful research and training in a values-based and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Foster strong community connections and deliver high-quality training in communication and consultation skills to medical students
  • Develop and strengthen connections with community members from Aboriginal and culturally diverse backgrounds
  • Contribute to securing external competitive funding and publishing research findings
  • Undertake scholarly teaching and supervision of medical students
  • Maintain productive links within the University and with local and national healthcare communities
Requirements
  • A PhD or equivalent in a relevant field, including formally recognised postgraduate clinical achievements
  • Clinical qualification registered with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency
  • Clinical experience as a clinician and a sound understanding of the Australian healthcare context
  • A good record of contributing to research achieving national recognition
  • Experience in university-level teaching and learning
Salary and Benefits

The total remuneration package for this role is up to $150,759 (pro-rata) per annum, comprising base salary and 17% superannuation. You will also have access to a range of benefits, including professional development opportunities and a supportive work environment.
