Job Overview

The creation of the Office for Early Childhood Development aims to create a more equitable future for all children in South Australia. Our objective is to implement the Royal Commission's recommendations and enhance early childhood education and care.

About this Role:

This role involves contributing to key initiatives that support the roll-out of 3-year-old preschool. Responsibilities include governance, project delivery, strategic policy design, and stakeholder engagement.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, coordinate, and deliver complex policy, project, and change management functions to achieve reform objectives and strategic priorities.
  • Coordinate analysis and reporting to inform management decisions.
  • Manage contracts and grants, including preparing specifications, evaluating proposals, and monitoring contract deliverables.
  • Build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support program outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop, coordinate, and deliver complex policy, project, and change management functions focusing on Aboriginal children, families, and communities.
  • Coordinate analysis and reporting to support management decisions.
  • Manage contracts and grants, including preparing specifications, evaluating proposals, and monitoring contract deliverables.
  • Build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including sustaining partnerships with Aboriginal families and communities.

  • Experience in complex policy and program development.
  • High-level communication skills to engage stakeholders and develop improved policy and research outcomes.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to identify program outcomes under pressure.
  • Ability to identify and analyze complex problems to formulate flexible solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in analyzing and evaluating sensitive policy issues.
